I want therapy to feel human. My style is relational, experiential, goals-focused, and flexible enough to respond to what is actually happening in the room.
I was born and raised in the Chicagoland area of Illinois before eventually making my way to North Dakota. I earned my BS in Psychology from the University of Mary in Bismarck in 2017, followed by an MS in Counseling with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2019. I now live with my family in Upstate South Carolina.
Since completing graduate school, I have practiced full-time across employee assistance programs (EAP), college counseling, community mental health, and private-practice settings, with particular experience working with college students and young adults. I have been in private practice since 2023 and providing clinical supervision since 2024.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and clinical supervisor in South Carolina, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and clinical supervisor in North Dakota, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Indiana, and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors.
My postgraduate training has included Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), generally within the broader framework of contextual behavioral science.
Staying connected to other clinicians and continuing to learn are important parts of how I try to remain thoughtful, competent, and current in my work. I am an active member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS), where I participate in special interest and peer consultation groups and continue to engage with contextual behavioral science literature.
I am also an active member of the South Carolina Clinical Mental Health Counselors Association (SCCMHCA) and have served on its board as Chair of the Membership Committee since 2025. I am an active member of the Catholic Psychotherapy Association, where I have participated in special interest groups and previously led an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) peer consultation group.
Beyond formal professional organizations, I regularly consult with colleagues, participate in and facilitate clinical supervision groups, attend professional conferences when able, and continue to pursue training and professional reading. I also occasionally serve as an adjunct instructor in the Master of Science in Counseling program at the University of Mary.
Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, getting a good cup of coffee with a friend, reading fantasy literature, and playing video games with my wife and kids—although I don’t necessarily claim to be the best gamer in the house. I’m also a lifelong Chicago sports fan, particularly the Cubs and Bears.
